How to Prevent Overload on Underpowered Servers

Social Rocket uses a throttling system to limit its database queries to 1 per second, or 60 per minute. For most servers, this is perfectly adequate. However, if your server is underpowered or your site is very resource intensive, has thousands of visitors per hour, etc., it may be necessary to slow down Social Rocket so it completes fewer queries per minute.

To do this, add the following code to your theme's functions.php file or a custom functionality plugin

	// Throttle Social Rocket
	add_filter( 'social_rocket_master_throttle', 'rocket_change_master_throttle' );
	function rocket_change_master_throttle( $value ) {
	return 2;

The 2 can be changed to any whole number, though usually 2 or 3 is enough to prevent server overload. You can adjust this value as needed, though share counts may not update as
